SBTRKT, the alias of London-based producer Aaron Jerome, has been a trailblazer in the electronic music scene since emerging in the late 2000s with his unique blend of dubstep, 2-step, garage, and soul influences. Known for his bass-heavy soundscapes and intricate percussion, SBTRKT’s early hits like “Nervous” garnered widespread acclaim on BBC Radio, setting the stage for his dynamic career. Collaborations with vocalist Sampha and remixes for artists such as M.I.A. and Radiohead further solidified his reputation for genre-defying creativity. His self-titled debut album in 2011 marked a milestone, followed by the experimental journey of “Wonder Where We Land” in 2014 and a series of EPs. After a hiatus, SBTRKT returned with a series of singles including “FORWARD” featuring LEILAH in 2022, leading up to the expansive third album “The Rat Road” in 2023. SBTRKT’s musical evolution spans drum’n’bass, chill wave, grime, and art-pop, always pushing boundaries and captivating audiences with his innovative approach to electronic music.
